Computer Scam

Alert message sent 10/02/2012 18:43:00
Information sent on behalf of Nottinghamshire Police
Please be aware of the following scam which seems to be doing the rounds at the moment.

A message is appearing stating that the computer is locked as someone has looked at pornography.  A pop up will appear (sometimes saying it is the Metropolitan Police) asking you to put your card details in and then the computer will be unlocked.

Under no circumstances put your card details in as this is the scam.

Best advice is to go to a Computer Retailer who can unlock your computer for you.  In order to prevent this please ensure that you have a good anti virus / anti spam and malware and a firewall installed on your computer.  Please ensure that these programmes are updated to the latest version.
