Residents
I would like to inform you of a few autocrime offences that have occurred on our beat over night Thursday/Friday and to remind you of the below advice.
1. Look at the location of your parking.
Is it a well lit area/CCTV available?
Is it Visible (out sight out of mind)?
I.e. if you vehicle is targeted is it likely that your vehicle will be seen from a residential or business property?
2. If you vehicle has been targeted in the past consider removing your vehicle to a different/secure location this may be an inconvenience to yourself but may reduce the risk of you being a victim of crime.
3. When leaving your vehicle make sure that all your windows are fully shut, your car doors are locked and the car alarm is set even if you are only leaving your car for a very short period of time.
4. Leave nothing on display in the vehicle and any high value items such as Satellite Navigation Systems, Laptops etc should be removed from the vehicle completely and kept in your house. TOP TIP: Leave glove compartment open and consider removing parcel shelf to show that the vehicle is empty
If there is anything that you would like to speak to your local beat team about please do not hesitate to contact myself, PCSO 7408 Dean Bardill or PC 2631 Chris Copley either by ringing 101 extension 855 5761 or
